Another Virginia General Assembly Session has come to a close and with it, the Virginia Chamber of Commerce has put together their 2013 Legislative Report Card, an annual report which grades legislators based on their support of pro-business issues.

Of particular interest to us was the “Excellence In Education and Workforce Training Award,” awarded to Delegates Kirk Cox and David Yancey and Senator Harry Blevins for their efforts in improving education in Virginia and better aligning workforce training programs with the needs of businesses.

These legislators and the Chamber are well aware that in order to get the workforce we need to compete in the 21st century, we need to invest in education and we applaud them for making education a priority.
