A big thank you to all of our literacy champions!!
The House, Senate and Spanberger administration have made funding for the implementation of the Virginia Literacy Act(VLA), Virginia Language and Literacy Screener(VALLSS) and statewide expansion of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library a priority.
Your advocacy helped to:
- Put more books in the hands of children and families through the Imagination Library.
- Ensure that our teachers have a tool to evaluate literacy skills, identify reading difficulties and track progress.
- Provide teachers with professional development and coaching in the classroom to teach reading effectively.
Together, we will make sure that EVERY child, family and teacher have the resources to help every child read by third grade.
