Last week, a new poll was released, which suggests broad, bipartisan support for early education.  The poll was commissioned by The First Five Years Fund and surveyed 800 registered voters.  Among the results, the survey reveals:

  • Voters place children getting a strong start in life as one of the highest priorities–above things like reducing taxes, improving access to healthcare for low-income families and securing our borders.
  • 70% of participants (Republicans, Independents & Democrats) said we should be doing MORE to ensure children start kindergarten ready to do their best.

No matter what side of the political aisle you prefer, when it comes to our youngest children, setting them up to succeed is something we can ALL support.  It’s in all of our best interest to do so–investing in early education is one of the most strategic investments we can make for our children, our future workforce and to ensure Virginia’s competitiveness in the global marketplace.
