In The News: Teachers are key to reforming Virginia education system

In case you missed it, Virginia House Majority Leader, Kirk Cox, had an op-ed in today’s Richmond Times-Dispatch regarding the proposed K-12 reforms.

“By most accounts, Virginia’s education system is one of the best in the country. While this was good enough for past generations, our children must now be ready to compete on the world stage in a 21 st-century economy. Unfortunately, our country’s education level continues to decline on the international stage. For Virginia to continue to prepare our children for future success, we need significant reforms in our schools, and the reforms must start with elevating the teaching profession.”
